We spent a week at the Makris Beach Hotel at the end of May for a friend's wedding, and Maria at reception made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. She helped with island plans, bus routes, and taxis, and showed us the restaurant and our room at check-in so we knew where everything was. The airport transfer arranged through the hotel was a warm welcome too. Maria made everything easy, and we can't thank her enough. Our sea view suite with a jetted tub was beautiful and spotless. There was a spacious bedroom with a small clothes-hanging area and seated dressing unit, plus double doors to the balcony. The bathroom felt luxurious, with double sinks, double waterfall showers, and toiletries. In the living area we had a double sofa, a single chair, and a smart TV. The kitchen area had a table and chairs, worktop, fridge, Nespresso machine, plates, and glasses. From the balcony we looked onto the beach, less than a minute from reception. It also had the jetted tub, two loungers, a table and chairs, and a small washing maiden. Breakfast at the Prince restaurant was buffet style, 8-10am each day. The choice was on the small side but plenty to get the day started: tea, coffee, water, fresh juices, eggs that changed each day, bacon, mixed vegetables and salad, homemade savoury pies, cold meats, cheese, bread, fruit, yogurt, cereals, pastries, and cake. The restaurant faces the sea, which made breakfast a lovely start. We also had dinner there once and the food was delicious. There was music in the restaurant, but we couldn't hear it in our room directly above. The island buses were easy to navigate and much cheaper than taking taxis every day. We used them to visit Fira, where you change buses for other cities, Oia for the sunset, and Akrotiri for Red Beach. We also enjoyed a wine tour and catamaran trip. Watching sunrise on Kamari beach and walking along the front before anything opens was so peaceful. We had a 10/10 stay and highly recommend the Makris Beach Hotel to anyone visiting Santorini.

Maria at Makris Hotel reception made our honeymoon feel extra special. She was lovely, funny, and made us feel right at home. We spent ten days there and had a wonderful time. The location in Kamari is great. The path from Makris brings you straight to the middle of the main strip, where the bars and restaurants are, and the beach is under 50 metres away. Makris is partnered with Prince restaurant, where breakfast is served. Prince also has sunbeds on the beach, and you can ring for service with your own doorbell. Highly recommended!

My husband and I had a wonderful two-night stay at Makriz Hotel. It was quiet and relaxing, the service was great, and the location was excellent. Maria at reception deserves a special thank you for being so welcoming and friendly. I had to leave before her next shift began, but I really appreciated her kindness and professionalism. We'd definitely stay again and highly recommend the hotel.

We were a family of four spending part of our summer holiday at Makris Beach Hotel, and couldn't have been happier. The beach is about 15 metres away. Sunbeds from the nearby beach restaurant cost €20-30 a day, but that amount comes back as credit for food or drinks there, which worked well for a full day by the sea. The hotel has been fully renovated, with modern comforts alongside traditional Cycladic details like whitewashed walls, rounded corners, and simple, charming decor. Everything was spotless and very well kept. The rooms were comfortable and elegant, though you can't cook in them since they're not set up for self-catering. We had two efficient air conditioning units and a small terrace for relaxing in the warm evenings. The reception team were warm and helpful. We rented a car through the hotel for €50 for 24 hours, about €20 less than the other options we found. Housekeeping came daily, with fresh towels and even the dishes taken care of. We found the breakfast at the connected Prince Restaurant worth adding to the stay. It's a modest sized buffet, but fresh, varied, and filling. The restaurant also serves delicious lunch and dinner, and hotel guests get 10% off evening meals. One downside: smoking is allowed there during breakfast, even though the hotel itself is smoke-free.

Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were so friendly. The hotel was spotless and comfortable, with a lovely look and a great spot near the beach. We had an amazing stay in Kamari and will definitely return.
