Mammis Beach Hotel

We had a car and didn’t spend much time on the beach in front of the hotel. You need a car to get to Kardamena, which is 2km away. It’s a very welcoming place, with a good swimming pool and great staff. I spent one week at Mammis Beach Hotel in August 2024 and only wish we could have stayed longer. We were on half-board, and breakfast and dinner were good. Dinner was good every day.

We usually go fully inclusive, but after a week in Turkey we came to Mammis Beach planning to explore and eat out. The food and everything else here won us over, so we ended up eating here every day and night. The BBQ evening was great value, with generous portions brought to the table, and Georgios was happy to make dishes that weren't on the menu. Meals and drinks were reasonably priced and very good. Breakfast was plentiful, and the relaxed hours meant we never felt rushed if we came down late. Renata always greeted us with a cheerful good morning. Nico handled the hotel and bookings and was helpful and accommodating. All the staff were friendly, and guests from several countries made for a lovely atmosphere. We had read some negative reviews, but our own experience, and what we heard from other guests, was entirely positive. We chose the hotel for its quiet spot away from the main resort, while still being only a ten-minute walk from town. It also has its own small beach, with plenty of free sunbeds by both the pool and the water. We're already planning to return in June 24. Keep up the great work, Mammis Beach. We loved our week at Mammis Beach Hotel. The city is about a 15-minute walk away, and there's also a bus stop by the hotel. The place has a pool, private beach with sunbeds, restaurant, bar, pool table, and a little library corner. Our room was spacious and really clean, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The cocktails were amazing and the food was great too. Every staff member we met was polite and friendly.

The owner's attitude made us feel unwelcome from the start. He came across as a bitter old man, trying to rip people off and shouting at the chambermaid. His spouse tried to be nice, but seemed fed up too. Hospitality can't be faked, and we felt there was none here. Even locals say the owners are difficult, and after a couple of days we understood why. I feel sorry for everyone at this place. I think selling it is the only chance for the hotel to improve. There were other problems too. Our room was not cleaned once during the whole stay, though they did take out the rubbish and change the towels. Breakfast was poor, with overcooked bacon that tasted like cardboard and powdered orange juice. You also have to pay extra for parking and sunbeds, plus some local tax that wasn't mentioned when booking. I don't mind those things as much, and I guess you get what you pay for, but the way we were treated was the biggest issue.
