Hotel Odysseas

After our stay, I understand even less why this place gets such high ratings. The rooms were mostly clean and quiet, with a nice view, but the breakfast was ordinary and mediocre. There were no blinds, just curtains that let light in, and no air conditioning. The mattresses were hard. The bathtubs were small too, though that was okay.

I loved the warm, welcoming owners and how impeccably clean and tastefully furnished Hotel Odysseas is. It sits in the beautiful Agrafa-Southern Pindos mountains, close to lake Plastiras, which I found exceptionally clean and warm. The natural setting is stunning, and I went hiking in the green woodlands and swimming in the lake’s clear, warm blue water every day.

Maria is a wonderful landlady and the perfect host. Everything she serves is grown on her little farm and cooked or baked at home. This small guesthouse feels homey, and the scenery is idyllic, just right for relaxing. We’ve stayed four times already and plan to keep coming back.

The two ladies who own Hotel Odysseas are so kind, welcoming, and warm-hearted. I stayed there for two weeks last summer and plan to return this summer for three full weeks. The rooms are cosy and very clean, and the furnishings are tasteful. The hotel is in a beautiful natural setting between the green, wooded AGRAFA-(Southern Pindos) mountains and lake Plastira, which is remarkably clean. I love swimming in the lake and hiking in the mountains. I’ve spent summer holidays at many lake resorts across Europe, but I haven’t seen a lake as clean as lake Plastira or a mountain and lake resort as lovely as Kalyvia Pezoulas anywhere else in Europe. I also believe the lake water is much healthier for the body than seawater. I loved it!
