What stood out most was the setting: the views of Meteora are stunning, and the small monastery of Saint Nicholas Anapafsas is just a short walk away. That made it easy to visit without worrying about traffic or parking. The weather let us down on day two, with heavy rain and thick fog, so we didn't get to see the other monasteries. From other reviews, though, they seem easy to reach. We had a double room with a beautiful panoramic view, and the friendly host was very kind. The room was clean and had a little fridge, hairdryer, and basic toiletries. Restaurants are about a ten-minute walk away, though one is only a minute away. We read that one wasn't the best, so we went to Taverna Ouzeri PAPPAS instead, which was absolutely worth the walk. The room was quite small, and the bathroom was tiny. Taking a shower without getting the whole area wet was almost impossible. It was fine for one night, but could feel uncomfortable for a longer stay. We also chose breakfast with the room, but that wasn't right for us. It was fresh, but the portions were really small: for two people, we got two slices of ham, four slices of cheese, two boiled eggs, some jam and butter, four pieces of bread, two small bowls of yogurt, and tea and coffee. The coffee wasn't great either. Since we usually skip lunch while traveling, we prefer a more filling breakfast. We ended up going down to Kalambaka, where we found several good cafes with tasty, affordable breakfasts and excellent coffee. For the price, the guesthouse is a good choice if location matters to you and you don't mind a simple room.
