The room looked out over the pool, beach, and sea, a beautiful view. It was a good size and well furnished, though it might be noisier in high season, as you'd expect. The beach had clear water and trees, right beside a huge outdoor pool, and there was a heated indoor pool as well. The gym was well equipped. Staff and service were brilliant, friendly, and professional, and nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks to Grigious, Inessa, and Nikos. We had fresh meals cooked to order with quality ingredients, and the buffet on some evenings was vast and varied. It's a great place to get away and relax. A taxi to Eritrea costs only a few euros, and there are restaurants and shops there. Athens and the Acropolous are about 1.5 hours away, and the journey wasn't bad. I really loved this place. One small thing for us Brits, tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms would have been the cherry on top. Thank you, Negroponte Resort.

Nikos and everyone at Negroponte made us feel so welcome that we almost felt like friends or family. My wife Lisa and I visited in September 2025, heard about the Xmas package, and chose to spend the holidays there because we didn't want to be at home in the UK for personal reasons. We were so glad we did, and can't wait to return. The hotel is a little way from Eretria port, and Chalkis takes a bus or taxi ride, so you'll need to be ready to walk or drive to get around. We liked being somewhere relaxed and away from crowds. The gym and indoor pool are excellent, and more spa construction was underway for 2026. The hotel is almost 100% carbon neutral, with electricity from solar panels in a nearby field, discreetly screened by hedges. We weren't brave enough to swim in the sea in December, but the sandy beach was inviting even in the cold. This hotel is far better than others in the area, most of which are completely closed in winter. Many staff have worked here for about 20 years, so they must be doing a lot right.

Those sunrises and sunsets were like paintings, and the views were amazing. The hotel also had friendly staff, nice rooms, good cleaning, delicious food, and spacious parking. We'll definitely come back!

The staff made us feel very welcome, and the Greek food was cooked in an original way. It has a cozy, homelike atmosphere. I'd totally recommend it for a top-notch retreat near Athens.
