The views were amazing, and it was so quiet that I could enjoy a peaceful morning. I had a coffee and a wonderful croissant at their café.

Let’s start with the service. It was boring, the staff weren’t talkative or happy, and they knew nothing about the food. The waitress who took our order didn’t use the app, so our salad was forgotten. We’d ordered one salad, one side and two mains. After they told us it hadn’t been ordered, I said not to bring it. I guess that was too much information for her :D The kitchen was really slow, 40 minutes for two mains and a side when it wasn’t even busy. Everything arrived at room temperature. If the waiter’s taking it easy, the kitchen should hurry them along. Both the chicken fillet and chicken souvlaki were dry. The feta with honey had a good crust, but that was all. Portions were very small for the price. You can find better restaurants than this one, just keep walking! :)

My partner and I both got food poisoning after ordering mousaka here. I don’t recommend this restaurant.

This used to be one of my favourite spots on the Kos waterfront for a cocktail and a meal while watching people go by. On 7th Aug, a waiter brought us menus and started pointing out and describing all the cocktails. I stopped him and said we could read and choose for ourselves. His overzealous approach really irritated me. When I tried to order lamb chops, I was told the cook, a woman, didn’t know how to cook them. I got the same answer about pork chops, so I felt I had to decide quickly and went with stifado while my husband chose pizza. While he still had more than half his beer left, I spotted a long crack down the side of the Mythos 500ml glass and a chip in the rim. Another waiter took it away and brought him a fresh full beer. I’d ordered a mango mojito, but all I could taste was mango syrup. I doubt there was any rum in it, and the tiny bit of mint didn’t help the flavour. We usually leave a tip, but we were disappointed and left deciding not to come back.

We loved the restaurant downstairs. The food was delicious and portions were big, and the staff were friendly and polite, so we always felt welcome. We got especially fond of the truffle chicken risotto and ordered it more than once. The toilets, though, are at the very back and up some stairs, and they weren’t in the best condition. That didn’t affect our visit, but it’s worth considering if stairs are difficult for you. Our apartment above the restaurant was comfortable and well located, with a lovely harbour view. We enjoyed watching the daily boat trips come and go. The ‘sofa’ was actually a single bed, a bit high and awkward to sit on. It’s a short walk to town, the beaches and a supermarket, and close to the marina. The main downside was music from what seemed to be a nightclub or bar until around 2am. Earplugs and a couple of glasses of wine helped block most of it out.
