Hotel Platanista

We were here on a half-board stay in July 2025, booked through Stayforlong. The dinner drinks aren’t included, and bottled water and wine felt a little overpriced, though service was polished. The evening shows were tasteful, including a fire performance by two dancers, and fit the resort’s elegant atmosphere. There are mini-markets and wild beaches nearby, which made it easy to explore. Food was the real standout for us. The buffet leaned gourmet, offered international choices, and had refined presentation that changed daily. Most guests seemed to be from Northern Europe, and the atmosphere stayed calm and well-mannered. Rooms are compact but comfortable, with Olivia toiletries and dependable daily cleaning. The private beach is small and well kept, with a pontoon that makes getting into the sea easier along the pebbles. We could always find sunbeds, as many guests preferred the pool bar, which serves light meals. A refined, quiet place for travelers who put food, cleanliness, and peace ahead of a low-cost stay.

The grounds are immaculate, and the hotel is very clean, with nice pools and good sports facilities. The man-made beach is pleasant and has excellent views. Our room was fine, if a little small and basic, with a tiny balcony. Drinks at the hotel cost quite a bit more than at the local tavernas. The buffet was okay, neither bad nor great, and staff were polite but didn’t show much enthusiasm or interest. Entertainment was the main letdown, the quality was poor. We had a nice week in a beautiful area, but were glad we hadn’t paid full price.

We had a good two weeks here and want to thank the staff for working so hard. The grounds and complex are well cared for, with enough space for everyone. The gym is looked after, though its air conditioning could be better. The restaurant staff were friendly and constantly busy, sometimes running around to clear tables and look after guests. The food was delicious, with a good range, and it was kept well stocked. The woman pushing the trolley to refill it, though, was extremely rude and unfriendly. Getting morning coffee was another frustration. The machines rarely worked properly, the queue was always long, and two machines broke during our stay. We were told replacements were coming soon. Since the restaurant is set up for outdoor dining, the two rainy days turned chaotic. In the evening, we queued for a ticket and waited an hour for our number; at breakfast the wait was around 30 minutes. The staff really did try to accommodate everyone, so I don’t blame them for the delays. We also weren’t keen on the entertainment. It began at 9:30 every night and went on until 11 pm. We were in room 416, and it was very loud. We usually go to bed at 10 and get up early, so the noise was definitely a problem for us.

The food has been fabulous, and the service and staff are great. I’m not sure what made our room deluxe, but it had everything we needed. There are chickens wandering around everywhere, which is fine apart from the droppings by the pool.
