Venardos Hotel

We used this family-run hotel as a base to explore the island, and it was always a pleasure to come back. Our room had fabulous views and a small balcony we made regular use of. Everything was spotless and well maintained, and the staff were super friendly. The beach and restaurants are only a couple of minutes away on foot. We stayed for a week recently and loved it.

The balcony was a favorite part of our stay at Vernardos Hotel in Agia Pelagia, Kythera. It had a little table and two chairs, and we ate breakfast there each morning while looking out at the sea. The room itself was unusually spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room to move around. The air-conditioning kept it perfectly warm, and everything, including the bathroom, floors, and linens, was impeccably clean. We arrived on Friday and left today. From the start, the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed, just right for a peaceful weekend away. There was a kettle with instant coffee and green tea sachets, plus a few treats: Miranda biscuits by Papadopoulos, my personal favorite. Vernardos Hotel was comfortable, clean, and hospitable throughout. We’d gladly return on our next trip to Kythera and recommend it to anyone visiting Agia Pelagia.

Breakfast had a great variety, including homemade cakes from the owner, and the swimming pool was really lovely. It was also just a short walk to the village. We stayed at Vernados hotel for 3 nights, and the family made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, with homemade dessert (delicious) and icy cold water. Everything was spotlessly clean and nicely maintained. The room was a good size, with comfortable beds and a balcony. We loved it and would definitely stay again.

The service was first class, and the staff were happy to take care of any request promptly. This is a lovely family-run hotel, with spotless rooms, facilities, and common areas. A must stay in Kythira.
