Paradise Inn

The manager really made our stay. She was so welcoming and friendly, and had plenty of useful tips, including good places to eat. The hotel was clean, though worn around the edges, with a lot of charm. And that pool! It's about a 10-minute drive to the city center.

We come back often because it's such a peaceful place to unwind. There's a big, clean pool and the staff are friendly. Resorts and supermarkets are only a short ride away by bike or car.

The beach has a lovely view and the sea is good for snorkelling, though the shore is quite stony rather than sandy. There are other nearby beaches with clean, nice sand. The accommodation had pretty good Wi-Fi and was close to the beach, with improvised but usable parking. Inside, the kitchen was quite clean, but the sofas in the living room looked rough and none of the TVs worked. The pillowcases were dirty, and the small bathroom smelled bad and was dirty when we arrived. The owners cleaned it after that.

This was the worst hotel stay I've had. My girlfriend and I had booked seven nights through hotels.com before arriving in Corfu. At the hotel we found the gate shut, and behind it the place looked dirty and chaotic, with pool chairs scattered around and an empty pool. The manager came across as arrogant. We were sent to another hotel for one night, then told to return to the dirty Paradise Inn the next day. We wouldn't stay there, and after lengthy discussions with the hotel manager and hotels.com, we were rebooked into a much nicer hotel. I'd give it zero stars if I could.
