The Nest Resort

We booked a lovely villa for six and spent a wonderful week with friends in Crete. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well organized, and the hotel and villas were beautiful, well maintained, and had a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was included, with plenty of tasty options and good variety each day. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, always making sure we had what we needed and felt welcome. I’d stayed here once before, four years ago, and was glad to find the high standards and great service were still just as impressive. We really enjoyed our stay, would happily return, and recommend the hotel to anyone after a relaxing, memorable holiday in Crete.

Dinner was consistently excellent. Each evening we shared a selection of appetizers, then chose from three main courses, with enough variety that we never had to repeat a dish. There’s also a good wine list, including Cretan and other wines. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty to choose from, changing hot dishes, and local specialties. The bread and jams were the one small disappointment, as they tasted of very little. Service was superb, and the staff were among the friendliest we’ve experienced. We stayed seven nights in a two-bedroom villa, set in one of three rows above the main hotel. The villas are nicely spaced apart. The first two rows can be reached by car, courtesy golf buggy, or on foot. To reach the top row, you have to climb a steep flight of steps, something to bear in mind if traveling with elderly parents, as we were. Even from the lower row, the views were excellent. The villa entrance is on the upper level, with a living room and ensuite bedroom, both with balconies. Downstairs are the kitchen and dining area, plus another ensuite bedroom, with doors leading to the pool area. The private pool is unusually large and long enough for laps. It was warm enough to swim at the beginning of May, but only just.

Dinner was a highlight, with excellent appetizers each evening and three main courses to pick from. Breakfast had local specialties and international options in the buffet. We spent seven days here with friends, and the villa and pool were outstanding, with a lovely view over Heronissos. The staff were friendly and always helpful, and nothing was left wanting. We had a fantastic holiday and would definitely recommend it.

Margarita at reception was wonderful, always kind and helpful, and the staff in general were polite and available whenever we needed them. The villa had a great ocean view, and the hotel itself was beautiful and clean. The private pool was spotless and well cared for, and the location was excellent. Breakfast could have had more variety, and the lower floor area needs better lighting. We had a great stay and would gladly recommend it.
