We had one of the two apartments at the back. I was a little disappointed initially, but after four nights I have to say it was fine. There are also a couple of apartments by the sea, about 10 metres from the house, and the property has a private beach with chairs. We noticed people from a certain nation reserving chairs early in the morning and not returning until 3 pm. Bad style, though it has nothing to do with the place. The owner is friendly, helpful, and service-minded, brings fresh towels and washes up. They speak Greek, and the rest is sign language. It's not five-star or all-inclusive, and we don't care about that at all. A lovely little hideaway when you want to take your girlfriends on a trip.

Tilos holidays are special, for travellers who like something a little different. Our clean room was right by the water, and our smiling host, Ms. Kleopatra, made the stay unforgettable. We had to leave before dawn for the ferry and didn't get to say goodbye. We love Tilos, and we love Kleopatra.
