Ilion Spa Hotel

We had a terrible stay and wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Two couples had booked rooms, massage, and thermal spa three weeks in advance. On arrival day, we got a text saying the massage was unavailable because of the masseur’s personal reasons. After check-in, we were told the spa pool was also out of service for technical issues. When we complained to the manager and owner, he was terribly rude. Instead of apologizing, he shouted and cursed, saying it wasn’t his fault and he could do nothing. He said he didn’t know the massage had been cancelled, even though we’d just received notice. When we told him the service was terrible, he started smashing things. We felt bullied and assaulted, and nearly called the police. The hotel’s offer was that we could cancel without a fee and find somewhere else if we weren’t satisfied. But everything was booked within 50 km because of the carnival celebration. In response to the hotel’s reply, the excuses are false. The person who intimidated us was the Romanian who had leased the hotel. He was with the person trying to repair the broken spa. When we said we were dissatisfied, he began shouting. When we mentioned that we’d only just been told the masseur was unavailable, he grabbed the massage service promo stand from the front desk and smashed it. He also shouted in Romanian at the woman at the concierge. So much for the so-called “tourist.” The hotel’s reply only confirms its insincerity, to say the least. This was the worst experience we’ve ever had with the most unprofessional personnel.

The spa, with its thermal jacuzzi and pool, was the highlight for my son and me. We had an amazing time. The staff were attentive throughout, and our triple room was clean and spacious. One of our best experiences, and the best choice!

Clean, good value, and a nice place to stay. The spa and sauna downstairs were the best part.

The beds were comfortable, and it’s an excellent hotel. I’ll definitely come back.
