The beach is right there and the staff are friendly. The main frustration was the snack bar, where service was painfully slow. Each time we wanted food or a drink, we waited 5-10 minutes, even when there was no queue. A separate snack buffet would have worked much better. Other small drawbacks were the lack of elevators, no pool suitable for the smallest children since the minimum water depth is 30 cm, and the long transfer, about 2 hours.

We stayed for a week in an apartment in early June and had our best holiday in a long time. It was great value for money, with nice rooms, a large terrace, and air conditioning in every room. Cleaning was done five days that week, with fresh towels. The kitchen was small but did the job. Perfect, we’ll be back! 🤞

Sun Wing is a great hotel and concept, with lovely pools and beautiful beaches. We stayed for a week, from 7 August to 14 August 2025, and the staff were excellent, especially in handling our special food needs without eggs, nuts, or gluten.

The rooms are clean and spacious, breakfast is good, and there are several pools. The seashore is 100 m away, down the stairs, and the shallow sandy beaches are ideal for children. The downside is the distance from Heraklion airport, about two hours by car or bus.

It’s quite a way from town, and there aren’t many taverns nearby to choose from for dinner. You need to walk 2-3 km to find more options. The old-style air conditioning keeps stopping and starting, so you get hot and cold several times during the night. Cleaners also come to the door at 9 am to ask if they can come in and clean.
