Cactus Beach Hotel

The kids had plenty of safe places to play, and our son was happily at it from morning until night. Cactus beach is a great resort for families, and the staff were friendly, always smiling, and ready to help with whatever we needed. The buffet had a huge range of tasty, nicely presented dishes, even for picky eaters. This was our second stay, and it was just as amazing as the first. We loved it and hope to come back next year.

A lovely sea and a nice stay for grown-ups and kids alike. The rooms are nice, and the service staff are friendly. Just keep in mind that you have to pay for the beach beds. You should enjoy your holiday here 🙂

The staff, location, and food were great, but that’s about where the positives end. We paid for a new hotel room and were placed in the old part instead. When we asked to move, we had to wait about four days because the hotel was fully booked, and we didn’t get any money back. The hotel was crowded with kids screaming and crying nonstop. The dining room is large enough to separate areas, but for some reason they don’t. Our room was cleaned every day, though the sheets and towels were only changed every third day. For what we paid, I expected much more, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here or come back. For an “all inclusive” hotel, a lot of things were excluded. You have to pay 10€ for the gym or towels, then 1€ to change the towels. The gym is tiny, so charging 10€ for one visit feels like theft to me. And the hotel has “beach” in its name, yet you have to pay for beach seats. The man handling them was arrogant and greedy, and quoted different prices each time: 25 one time, 20 another, while some people got them for 15. I honestly wish him the worst for his attitude.

Our holiday’s still going, so I may add to this later. So far, the service is the best in Creete, the rooms are clean, and the all inclusive drinks are decent. There’s varied food, including a toddler section with plastic plates, and the beach is great. You pay extra for sun beds, but there’s room to lay your towels on the right. Beach towels are free with a deposit. Getting around with a stroller is easy, since many rooms are on the ground floor and there’s also an elevator. The daily baby-disco is awesome. A paradise for families with kids!
