Eltina Apartments

We'd happily come back. The hosts, Maria, Petros and Lucy, are great at looking after their guests and making sure everyone has a good time. It's a lovely little oasis, just a five minute walk from the strip and about fifteen minutes from the beach. You can feel away from it all here, while still having everything close by. There's plenty of lively young people around, but a second pool with loungers is much quieter if you'd rather relax. It's Malia, of course, but there's room for everyone to find their groove. We're near the end of our week and have really enjoyed it. The room is basic but has everything we need. Air conditioning costs extra, though we found it well worth it.

The pool wasn't enjoyable for us because it had a lot of hornets left in it overnight. Our room also fell well short of what the photos led us to expect. I know you get what you pay for, but we didn't expect a shower with only cold water or a toilet door that wouldn't lock and wouldn't even close. On arrival, the manager, a man, greeted us kindly. His manner changed and at times became impolite after we didn't buy drinks at his cash-only bar, which he had encouraged us to do. We were also told about charges we had to pay only at the end of our stay. My time at Eltina Apartment was horrible, and I won't stay at this hotel again or recommend it.

Had a great five days here with friends. Pedros and Maria were lovely to chat with and really helpful. The old town and strip are an easy walk away. 10/10, would recommend!

The owners work hard and I can't fault them. Food and drinks are well priced and nicely presented, and the pool area is nice when it's not taken over by 18 to 20 year olds diving in despite the signs telling them not to. But the hotel seems to cater to shouting teenagers. There's noise from early evening until 6am, as people head to and return from the Malia strip, and some guests gather outside each other's accommodation with loud music. The younger guests can be rowdy and show little respect for the smaller number of more mature visitors. If you want a peaceful, relaxing holiday, Eltina isn't for you. The apartments are advertised as Adults Only, so I'll let you draw your own conclusions. I found that quite misleading.
