Ikaros Beach Resort & Spa - Adults Only

We went half board, and breakfast was excellent with lots of variety and choice. Dinner at the Olive restaurant was fantastic too. There was a different theme each night, and tonight’s Asian buffet was the best hotel buffet meal we’ve had. Food was freshly cooked at different stations, with so many salads and desserts to choose from. The staff were warm, friendly, and helpful. They really went out of their way to make sure we had a great holiday, and nothing felt like too much trouble. This hotel exceeded our expectations and was definitely worth the 5 star. We’ll be back to this amazing place.

We booked a late October break to catch some of the last sun, and most days brought a pleasant 27°C. The hotel was magnificent. We’ve stayed at places calling themselves 5-star before, but Ikaros Beach really lives up to it. The reception is beautiful and welcoming, though check-in could be less dependent on technology for older guests. Our bags were brought to a modern, beautifully designed room with its own garden and hot tub. The grounds have a lovely Cretan village feel, with plenty of pools and sunbeds, so there was no early-morning towel scramble. The sandy beach was better than we expected, with lots of loungers and showers, and the sea was still pleasant to swim in that time of year. Food was where Ikaros stood out most. The main restaurant had lots of choice, including pizza, pasta and Greek dishes, and breakfast was plentiful. If I’m being picky, the porridge could use a rethink; often it seemed like oats sitting in milk rather than properly combined. There are also Greek, Italian and Asian à la carte restaurants, all with sea views, good service and a lovely atmosphere. The Asian restaurant team were especially thoughtful and even brought us a blanket when it got chilly at night. The bars were well stocked and the service was great. George and Marian deserve a mention for being so friendly and attentive, and for making sure nothing felt like too much trouble. Our room was serviced daily, with drinks topped up and towels changed, quietly and discreetly. I also liked being able to request a clean when we left the room, instead of getting an awkward early knock. We’d absolutely come back. We’re already looking at dates for early May 2026. There are a few small things that could be tweaked, but perfection is hard to reach, and Ikaros is close. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

The staff made us feel very welcome, and we’d gladly return. There’s a lovely natural setting, several bars and tasty restaurants to choose from, along with plenty of pools and a nice beach. We’d happily recommend this beautiful resort.

My wife and I were struck by how beautiful this place is, and its location near the airport was a real plus. The hotel has everything we needed, from good service and clean surroundings to food available and great views. We’ll definitely stay here again.
