The staff were friendly, but there weren't many of them, and the hotel is currently under construction. It's just 50 steps from the sea, which is the main advantage. The elderly owners couldn't seem to keep up with everything, and the place was run down and in need of renovation. We booked a room with a sea view and balcony, but despite our protests and those of our tour operator, we were given a bed in the basement. Food was disgusting, so we had no choice but to eat at nearby taverns. The hotel didn't provide drinking water, so we had to buy it at supermarkets. There were no entertainment options. Wi-Fi was available only at reception and was quite weak. Room cleaning and towel changes were inconsistent, and there were mosquitoes in the evenings.

The shady spots around the pool and the beach nearby were the best parts. The town itself didn't offer any attractions in my opinion. The hotel had clearly seen better days, and the food wasn't much of a highlight. You can't expect much when you pay little. There were surprisingly many Eastern European and English guests, though fortunately they didn't fit the usual stereotype.

The only things we liked were how close the beach was and the sea view from the balcony. The hotel manager seemed to spend all day sleeping in the lobby, and there was no real service. Rooms were dirty, run down, and needed renovation. Food was cold, bland, with no choice, and not at all typical of the region. It wasn't worth a single cent. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The beds are only suitable if you're taller than 1.65m (5'5"), otherwise your feet hang over the edge. Breakfast and dinner were awful, with the same food day after day, though luckily there was a very good restaurant around the corner. The location was great, but that was the only positive. The short, unfriendly owner wouldn't accept any criticism. When we arrived, the hotel was filthy, with a sausage package left by the previous guest, a pretty clear sign of the cleaning standard. Bathroom fittings were dirty and barely attached to the wall, and there were dirty glasses in the room. This “hotel” is an absolute no-go.

The building isn't bad and the location is good, but the food is a joke. Most guests stocked up on groceries at the supermarket, so we ate out at least every other day. The bar was practically closed. The owner seemed to hate his guests, greeting Central Europeans, Germans, Swiss, Dutch, Austrians, and others with “Heil Hitler.” He wouldn't show even basic courtesy. At 10:00 PM the outside lights were switched off, making conversation impossible and playing cards outdoors out of the question. Most staff spoke Greek, and only some spoke English. For a family of three, the room was tiny. The wardrobe had no shelves and only four hangers, so there was nowhere to put things and we ended up living out of our suitcase. Update: There was a rumor that the hotel had been sold and would have new ownership for the 2018 season, and that the previous owner was therefore no longer investing money or effort.
