Looking for somewhere peaceful to switch off, with lovely design around you? KANAVA Cave Winery Villa fits that perfectly. It feels like a Santorinian gem, and I already know I want to come back. Mr. Yiannis has a real gift for making guests feel at home, and you can see how much care and hard work went into the place. Every little detail feels considered, adding up to a stay that’s comfortable, luxurious, and genuinely special.

The rooftop hot tub was such a good place to wind down in the afternoon and watch the sun set. Inside, the open layout made the villa feel warm and playful, with a modern, intimate design that was minimalist but still practical. We had speakers, a kitchen stocked with drinks and snacks, and a lovely Greek grandma next door who kept bringing us food even though we didn’t share a language. Yiannis welcomed us and told us how this family property had once been a working winery. It’s centrally placed for walking to markets and driving to either end of Santorini, while still feeling private from other travelers and neighbors. We went with the aim of relaxing on our little getaway, and KANAVA made that easy. I hope to see Yiannis and his dear neighbor again.

Yiannis and Litsa made our honeymoon feel cared for from the moment we arrived. They were kind, easy to reach by text, and full of useful advice on places to visit and restaurants. They could also book activities for us, and helped throughout our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better welcome or imagined a nicer honeymoon. The villa sits in a quiet part of Mesaria, with the kind of privacy that’s hard to find in places like Fira or Oia. Its rooftop spa has lovely sea views, especially at sunrise, and was a peaceful place to relax. There are extra services too, including food orders, taxis, and activities. We ordered Greek food and drinks through a QR code in the villa; delivery was quick, and we could pay by card or cash. Getting around without a car was manageable by bus from Mesaria, and Uber and taxis also operate there. Inside, the old winery’s character is still there, but it’s been reimagined with beautiful materials, thoughtful furniture, and a design that almost feels like a small museum. It’s an authentic, rare place, with the equipment we needed, including Wi-Fi, AC, a fridge, and cooking gear. Thank you again, Yiannis and Litsa.

Paraskevi, our neighbor, brought us breakfast one morning, and it was better than anything we’d tried at restaurants. She kept sharing pastries and other treats during our stay, simply as a kind neighborly gesture. That was really special. The villa itself has a peaceful feel that made leaving difficult. There’s a courtyard dining table, a pool with a jacuzzi, and a rooftop spot for relaxing. Inside, it feels like a museum arranged for comfortable living, with careful design and no unnecessary extras. I have a lot of respect for Yiannis and all the love and effort he put into creating it. Yiannis met us in the morning, helped with our luggage, and showed us around while explaining how the old winery became a villa. He’d stocked the fridge with fresh fruit, juice, snacks, water, and sweets, and made sure we had what we needed. His welcome was incredibly generous. It has a distinctive atmosphere that’s hard to put into words. Staying at Kanava Cave Winery Villa felt like stepping into another world where time slows down, and every moment seemed worth holding onto. I’d happily recommend a visit.
