Roubeti Village

We stayed in the Villa, and the apartment was clean. Having a pool to lounge by was great, and breakfast was wonderful, much more than I expected. The location also made it easy to get around the island. When we arrived, the managers made a lot of offers, including car rentals and day cruises. They really pushed renting a car and made walking sound difficult. I suspect they get a commission, though I can't say for sure. With traffic so bad, renting a car might have been more hassle. Getting around by bus is easy if you look up the routes. You may have to wait, but it isn't a big deal. The bus stop is only about half a mile from Roubeti and easy to walk to, whatever they tell you. The managers were very nice apart from the pushy offers. I just wish someone had warned me beforehand.

The owners were waiting by the arrivals doors with a sign when we got off the plane, and one of them helped us when we couldn't get a taxi. The staff work incredibly hard, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. Our rooms were very clean, and breakfast had a different selection each day. We had a fantastic holiday here in Santorini and would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed in both a hotel room and one of the cave homes, and liked them both. Stephanie and her husband were wonderful hosts, truly kind people who go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay in Santorini.

We were unfortunately only there for a short stay, but it was great. Our room had a view of the swimming pool, a spacious bathroom and shower, and new a/c machines. It was large and very clean, and they'd upgraded us before we arrived. Stefania was kind, helpful, and ready to assist at any time. The location is central, near Pyrgos and Thira, and about 10 minutes by car from both the airport and the port. It's a good base if you want to experience local life away from Santorini's usual crowded little streets. Thank you, Stefania. Ilaria
