Blue Dolphin Hotel

The suite had mesmerizing views, and the food was amazing. A great resort all around.

We’d happily return to Blue Dolphin. We’re a couple without kids, and although the hotel is very child-friendly, that didn’t bother us. The service and accommodation were excellent, the staff were always smiling and helpful, and they met all our expectations. The rooms are cleaned every day, which was great, and the food was lovely.

The beach is excellent, and the hotel is very clean. Its private beach is quiet and laid-back, has Blue flag certification, and includes a bar/restaurant overlooking the shore, olive trees and a small pine forest. The bar is relaxed too, with good food. The rooms are new, very nice and genuinely large. They’re cleaned daily, with fresh towels and bed sheets. The hotel layout is beautiful, and it’s clear a lot of thought and hard work went into it. We’re a couple without children, and while the hotel is very child-friendly, both the hotel and parents keep things calm and orderly. There are two things that could be better: the food, which we had with HB, and the hotel’s handling of our request to change rooms. I won’t give the reason for the request, but it was the hotel’s responsibility and a bad judgment call. The staff did everything they could to accommodate us, so I don’t hold that against them or the hotel. I’ve stayed in many good hotels over the years, and I still rate this one very highly.

Olives was the highlight for us. It’s a lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting, with good food and wonderful service. The chef, Makis, made a separate vegetarian à la carte menu for my wife for the whole week, and went out of his way to prepare dishes for our fussy children too. That made us feel special. I’d recommend it to other guests. We also ate at Akatos on the beach, which was beautiful and had lots of good food. Both restaurants were included for us because we stayed in a suite, so we used them every day except the day we arrived. The main buffet was okay, but with more than 100 kids and 100 adults all serving themselves, it was what you’d expect. This is a clean, safe place that welcomes families with young children. The staff make you feel welcome, there’s a nice clean beach and beach bar nearby, and the evening entertainment is mostly aimed at little kids.
