Ampoulos

I found Ampoulos at the last minute after the accommodation I’d booked in Mytilene fell through and left me stressed. They got me a room that day, on the second floor with a view over the bay. There was plenty of room and storage, a comfortable queen bed, a great bathroom, TV, and AC, which mattered a lot in late June. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast had lots of delicious options, served in the room or from the buffet. You’ll need a car for a holiday here because it’s outside the city, but I found the quiet and relaxation worth it. I’d absolutely stay again 😊

The quiet setting, attractive grounds, and hotel design were a real plus, and the rooms felt new. It’s a nice family business, with friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was included and delicious: two kinds of cheese, olives, boiled eggs, yogurt, honey, jam, and homemade cakes. The taverna on the beach is worth visiting one evening for dinner. We enjoyed our stay despite a few issues, and having a car makes this place a good choice. We booked a queen bed but got two single beds, and neither was very comfortable. The standard room bathroom was tiny, probably about 2 square meters. It was hard to use the toilet or shower, and the shower curtain kept touching me; afterward, the whole floor was soaked. After a long day around the island, that wasn’t a pleasant shower. We added a night and upgraded to the deluxe room, which was much more comfortable, with a good bed and a bathroom of adequate size. For a 15 euro difference, I’d recommend the deluxe. There’s only one tavern within walking distance, and without a car you may want to reconsider staying here.

It’s quiet here, so it’s a good choice if that’s what you need. The room was clean and a decent size, though the bathroom was small. Breakfast was good, and Mitilini centre is only 15 minutes away.

We had a really enjoyable stay. Our room was new, clean, and nicely decorated, and the garden and sea view were lovely and relaxing. The owners are polite and always try to help. There’s a delicious tavern a three-minute walk away, plus an ancient but renovated spa centre with healing waters 2km away. We’ll definitely come back!
