Hotel Agamemnon

We spent the weekend here as two couples and were given two rooms overlooking the sea. That view was breathtaking. The hotel and rooms were spotless, and breakfast had plenty to choose from. We’ll definitely return.

There’s no hotel parking, which is a drawback if you’re arriving by car, though the location directly across from the port is lovely. What really let the stay down was the condition of the room: the floors, doors, windows, and bathroom were all visibly dirty. Service at the front desk was disappointing too. The receptionist, whose name I think was Panagiotis, came across as discourteous and unprofessional. With such a promising setting, I hope management addresses the upkeep and service, because the experience fell short of what I’d expect.

We had a good stay and would still consider coming back. The portside setting puts you right in the heart of Napflio, which can get lively and loud. Parking takes some searching, and you need to avoid spaces reserved for residents. The reception should make sure guests know that. Breakfast was pretty average, though the restaurant view helped make up for it. The rooms were decent, but a few areas could use freshening up. Service was great, especially the helpful woman at the front desk.

This is long overdue, from June 02, 2013. I was on a college trip and had to stay behind when my class and teacher left for an outing. I thought I had an ear infection, but fragments left in my gums after wisdom tooth surgery a month earlier had become an abscess. The emergency phone was out of range, so I couldn’t reach anyone. The front desk staff drove me in their car to an English speaking dentist, who performed emergency surgery. Those kind people quite literally saved my life. Thank you.
