Five Seasons Pension

We couldn't get any rest because the room was noisy all the time. With the wooden construction, you can hear everything, especially when there are guests in the room above. The mattress and pillows were poor quality too. The building is old and seems to have had very little investment. Better avoid this place.

The location is lovely, in a beautiful part of town, and the service was great. Just be aware there are a lot of steps to reach the accommodation, so it may not suit anyone with mobility issues. We stayed in a gorgeous room on the second floor of a cute, characterful building. It was small for two, but we knew that going in and it worked fine for us. It's an old building, so the stairs are narrow and the floors creak. We could hear the room above quite clearly. It also felt a bit worn, though that seemed understandable for the age and price, which was neither super cheap nor luxury-priced. The only real issue was the slightly broken shower head. It sometimes fell out when not in use, but worked fine while showering.

The room was basic, clean, and comfortable. In the morning, the hostess brought fresh pastries to our door. They met us at the entrance and helped with our bags, let us check out later, and didn't rush us. I've seen people complain about the stairs and lack of reception, but these are old houses owned by single families or owners. There are going to be stairs, and often there isn't a 24/7 reception. If that's what you want, pay for one of the five-star hotels down the street.

We felt at home in the lovely atmosphere and suite. The room we picked was beautiful, with distinctive decor, and it was comfortable and quiet. The managers were both polite and lovely, and the room service was amazing. The location was one reason we chose the hotel: everything is within walking distance. I'd definitely visit again. It was the very essence of philoxenya! ❤️
