Diadema Villa

Diadema was a lovely place to wind down on the last stop of our eight-night Greece trip. We enjoyed the nearby beaches and good food, and it was a nice chance to get ready to return to everyday life. A note on the layout: it’s more like a one-bedroom apartment than a whole villa, so keep that in mind if you expect the entire villa to yourself. It was very clean and nicely decorated, with comfortable space for three adults, a good-sized bedroom, full kitchen, big dining table, and sectional sofa. The smaller-than-full-size private pool was still much bigger than any jacuzzi I’ve seen, stayed spotless, and felt great on hot days and evenings. From the pool, we could see the coastline. We liked relaxing in the shade on the front patio, sunning on the loungers, and raising a glass to the sunsets. Parking is on the street outside. It is a hill, but traffic was very light. The hosts were kind and helpful, and even arranged Covid testing for us in town before travel. Water, wine, and espresso pods were waiting when we arrived. Naxos has lots of good beaches and restaurants, and Diadema worked well for exploring and relaxing.

Eirini was honest and committed to making things right. I booked through Airbnb for the wrong dates by mistake, even though the stated policy said the booking was non-refundable. She went out of her way to contact Airbnb support with me until we agreed on a fair refund, which I received. She didn’t have to help with my error, and I really appreciate the care she showed for the guest experience. Thanks, Eirini. I’d book again knowing firsthand how good her service is.

The villa was spotless and easy to find, with huge sea views from the coast out to the island. Strelitzia flowers add a lovely touch to the veranda, which has shade covers, comfortable outdoor seating, and a dining table. The pool lights up at night, and there are warm blankets for winter. Inside, it’s tastefully furnished, with two modern, well-equipped bathrooms, AC in every room, and a kitchenette with a microwave, oven, hearth, fridge, ice, coffee machine, and washing machine. They left water, coffee, salt, pepper, soap, tabs, tea, and toilet paper for us. And thanks for the excellent wine!

We had a peaceful, quiet stay in a very clean place with everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen. The yard was a lovely spot for dinner by the pool with a direct view of the sunset. Agios Prokopios, the island’s most famous beach, is about a five-minute drive away, and Chora, Naxos’ main town, is roughly 10 minutes away. Irini, the villa’s owner, was really kind and friendly.
