We left as soon as we could. After the man the owner sent offered to try putting another bed in the room, we explained there wasn’t space, but he still wanted to try. The room was far too small, and the children’s beds clearly weren’t suitable. The location was the only good thing, but I’d never return after what happened. My brother and I were asleep and hadn’t been moving when the bunk bed suddenly broke. It fell onto me, and he landed on me with it. I was shaking and could have been hurt. My brother injured his knee and could barely put his feet in the sea for the rest of the day. The owner didn’t come to check on us. She sent someone who didn’t ask if we were okay or needed a doctor. After looking at the broken bed, he looked at us and said he was going to get a coffee and come back later. When I told the owner the bed had fallen on me, she said she knew, and that was all. The owner was not caring at all. Worst villa I’ve ever stayed in.

The place was clean and roomy, with a fridge and cooker, so we could prepare some meals ourselves. Our hosts gave us such a warm welcome and really made an effort to help us feel at home. They took time to suggest places to visit based on what we personally enjoy.

We loved the pool, especially for the children. It was spotless and had no chlorine. The one small downside was the playground equipment, just a swing and something to climb on. It was old and rusty, so not suitable for kids. They could remove it or replace it. Our rooms were pretty big, and there was a large balcony or terrace. The kitchenette had everything we needed, including pots and plates in different sizes. Cleaning was done every two days, with fresh sheets and towels. We stayed seven nights, and the owners were great and very friendly. I recommend Maleleine with all my heart.

The Byzantine tower looked great against the sea from the place. We had amazing weather during our week there, near the end of the season. It felt cozy and quiet, and the sea, supermarket, and restaurants were all about a 10-minute walk away. The service was amazing too. On our first day, they even offered to drive us to the supermarket for some basic groceries.

The owners were kind and always available when we had questions. It was clean, cozy, and in an excellent spot. We’d recommend staying here if you’re after a peaceful vacation. We’ll come back.
