Alafouzou Cave Loft

The view, location, and price were a very appealing combination, and I’d stay again. We loved soaking in the porch hot tub and never wanted to leave. We visited in the off season, when everything was wonderfully quiet and the view was unmatched. A cave house is a great experience, but Oia’s narrow cobbled paths and stairs can be difficult if you have mobility concerns. Bags have to be carried from the drop-off point, though our host arranged help getting them both ways. The stairs inside are also very narrow and steep, which adds charm but is good to know in advance. The place was spacious and comfortable, and I liked how many electrical outlets there were and where they were placed. We had a few issues, including beds without clean linens, but the host sorted everything quickly once we told them. The upstairs bathroom’s shower is only usable in a pinch, and its mirror hangs too low for contacts or makeup, though it works fine for brushing teeth and using the toilet. The twin bedroom is a loft overlooking the living room, so there isn’t much privacy there.
