Amoudi Villas

The view really is as amazing as people say, and we loved relaxing in the hot tub at night. Breakfast was good, and it was handy that sunset cruises end at Amoudi, right by the hotel. One thing left us feeling uneasy, though. Before we arrived, we messaged the property manager, John, about COVID tests for re-entering the US. Each time, he said we could sort it out once we got there. Then he told us the only option was a cab across the island, 30 minutes each way at 45 euros each way, and said the test would be free. When we asked about alternatives, he said there weren't any. We assumed it wasn't a big deal until we later found two places within walking distance in Oía offering rapid tests for 20 euros. A doctor told me nowhere on the island would test for free, and couldn't understand why the manager had sent us on a long, costly drive when testing was available in town. It made us suspect he was trying to steer us to one of his taxi contacts for extra money. After we declined and arranged tests ourselves in town, his attitude and tone changed for the rest of our stay.

Amoudi Villas felt like paradise. Johnny's smile, laugh and care made the trip for us. Oia and Amoudi Port are such a beautiful little corner of the world, hard to put into words. Jo and I are so grateful you made our stay memorable. Thanks again, we'll be back. Dan & Jo xxx

The villa and its beautiful view were just perfect, and breakfast each morning looked like something from a movie. John was AMAZING and sorted out taxis, ATVs, reservations and everything else we needed. I can't recommend the place enough. Thanks for everything!

Down in Amoudi Bay below Oia, these apartments have a romantic, almost magical feel and lovely views of the Caldera, especially by moonlight. There are plenty of fish restaurants nearby below. Lazaros, the owner, was helpful, though be sure to email or call before you arrive. Oia's center is about a four-minute walk uphill. A quad or moto is another option for getting around Santorini.
