Getting coffee just 100 metres away in the quiet before the tourists arrived was one of my favorite things about the location. We were right in a prime spot, and there’s a beautiful Caldera view from outside the kitchen window. We were a family of four, and I’ll remember this place for the rest of my life. When we arrived last October, a porter carried our luggage, which was a godsend with all the stairs and crowds. The host was easy to reach, checked by text to see if we needed anything, and came over with tips on what to see. We ordered breakfast for delivery. We had no hot water problems and received five-star service. The hotel faces into the Caldera, so it doesn’t look toward the sunset on the other side. But it’s a 30-second walk to sunset views, and the sunrises from the hotel are stunning, as shown in the photo.

The property is beautiful, and host Konstantinos was quick to help with anything we needed, though every request came with an extra cost. But for about $800 per night, I expected more. The hot water didn’t work, and it was only a little less cold than cold. There was an unpleasant smell by the pool. The host confirmed the property doesn’t offer breakfast, and there was no sunset view. I also wish the outdoor jacuzzi had temperature control. Storing luggage after checkout cost around $30 Euros for five hours, which made it harder to explore. The transfer on check-in day was another problem: the driver was notably rude and the fee unreasonably high. These issues took away from the value and enjoyment of the stay. Overpriced.

We had a great stay as a family of four. The host was very patient, and the views were stunning. The location made it easy to get up early for beautiful photos before the cruise ships arrived.

Eugenia checked us in and was an absolute gem. She sat with us and went over great places to eat and things to do each day. We were worried by the earlier negative reviews, but our stay had no issues at all. The place was immaculate and the views were amazing. I’d recommend it again and again.

We spent most of our time on the balcony, swimming in the pool or relaxing in the shade of the tree. It seemed to be one of the only trees in the area, and the natural cover was perfect for me since I burn very easily. The space felt quiet both day and night. This AirBnB sits at the tip of Oia near the old castle, behind a roped-off area, so you’re not beside tourists taking photos all day. There are a fair number of steps and old cobblestone streets, which my husband and I loved. Shops, a mini market and restaurants are only a few steps away. The hosts made this trip what it was. From the day we booked, they shared opinions and suggestions for planning our Oia visit. Eugenia met us at the bus station, but my phone was off, so we walked to the AirBnB alone and she chased after us. Sorry, Eugenia! She let us store our bags while we explored and gave us a time to return. Then she showed us around the villa, explained its details and the history of cave houses, and marked places to eat and things to do on a map. She felt like a friend by the end, replied quickly and helped us get accurate bus information for the port. We changed our trip plans at the last minute and picked this Airbnb. It cost more than we’d planned, but the view of boats coming in and dreamy morning sunrises from that balcony sold us. It was worth every penny. This was one of the best places we’ve stayed, mostly because of the people and their communication. I could’ve stayed on that balcony forever.
