Liakada Oia Suites

Our biggest regret is not booking a longer stay. The staff were so helpful and kind, and our huge junior suite had an outdoor private hot tub, a kitchenette, separate bedroom, sitting room, and dining space. Just a heads-up, the check-in office is at Armeni Suites hotel, not Liakada Suites hotel, and it can be hard to find.

My wife and I never actually stayed here. We booked through Airbnb in early May 2020, then cancelled on March 14 because we’re federal healthcare workers and needed to be available to provide care during the worldwide crisis. We asked for a full refund, but management wouldn’t budge and offered only a 50% credit for a future visit. We chose what we thought would be a classy, professional place, and felt badly let down. I believe a business that refuses to fully refund a reservation during a worldwide emergency is acting out of self-interest. Based on this experience, I’d tell people not to book here and to choose people who care about their customers and the people they serve. We also had to cancel part of our Athens trip, at a nice Airbnb. After hearing about our situation, that owner personally refunded the 50% we would have lost. So I know it can be done by a business, or through Airbnb by waiving the fees. Please book another hotel and don’t be drawn in by the online photos. Check the other Google reviews too, as I expect others may post similar experiences. If Airbnb eventually gets our money back, I’ll update this, but my opinion of the business won’t change. I’ve had to deal with Airbnb, and this could have been avoided. Truly disappointed!

There’s a lovely Santorini bell right in front of this beautiful cave room, and the warm-water tub gives you a breathtaking view of the Caldera. From this angle you can’t see the town. It’s not the most luxurious villa with a pool overlooking the Caldera, but it is definitely beautiful.

The views are great, though the service still has room to improve.
