Sophia Oia View

Cleopatra welcomed us so warmly and was always ready to help, whether arranging a boat trip or suggesting places to go. We had a truly privileged view of the sunset from Sophia Oia Castle View. Highly recommend!

The view was excellent, the room was large and clean, and the service was very good. We stayed one night after switching from another hotel in Oia. The friendly staff helped move our luggage and got us into the room early, at around 12.

We messaged staff and got replies, but that’s the only positive thing I can say. We told the man who checked us in that we’d be leaving at 5:30 AM and he said someone would help with our bags. We waited and waited, but nobody came. We nearly missed our flight. If 5:30 was too early, they could have just said so and we’d have taken our bags ourselves instead of waiting on a promise that wasn’t kept. For our honeymoon, the stay was very underwhelming. The rooms look good in pictures, but ours felt outdated. There was a sewer smell from the bathroom, the shower had a musty odor and a broken drain, and when our room was cleaned on the second day, the sheets weren’t changed and there were no fresh towels. We had to handle that ourselves. I won’t recommend this hotel to friends or family.

Cleopatra, the manager, was kind and helpful throughout the stay, and the staff went out of their way to store our luggage and arrange a ride to the airport at checkout. The pickup from the ferry and check-in were seamless. Sophia Oía View was everything we imagined for Santorini and more. Our room was a beautiful, unique white cave, with a private plunge pool overlooking the sea. It was the perfect place to relax and take in the view at any time of day. Right in front of us were the blue domes, with the caldera stretching beyond. It felt like a dream, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Highly recommend!
