Manos gave us such a warm welcome during our two night holiday stay in the east of Crete. The hotel is conveniently located in Palaikastro, and our room was spacious with a comfy bed. We also had a wonderful breakfast that catered to dietary needs.

Check-in and check-out were easy and fuss-free, and the room was comfortable, conveniently located, and good value for money. The fridge was a bit noisy, so we unplugged it to get a better night's sleep. The air conditioning was good.

House Margot is family-run and sits about 2 km from the shores of Kouremenos and Hiona. The rooms have free Wi-Fi and a furnished balcony overlooking the mountains and town. Each room has a refrigerator, a fan, and a private bathroom with a shower. Breakfast is served in a bright dining room with views of the mountains and garden, and includes espresso, tea or milk, bread, jams, yogurt, cheese, and honey. Shops and restaurants in the town centre are 300 metres away. The multilingual staff can share information about nearby sights.

The staff were very helpful, and the room was nice with a mountain view. Breakfast was good, though it costs extra. In the middle of the night, the electricity went off throughout the apartment for some reason. During the heat wave, sleeping without air conditioning was uncomfortable. We left early and couldn’t ask what caused the outage. We wondered if it had anything to do with the government’s call to save power during the heat wave.
