At check-in, the man at the entrance said we’d been "upgraded" from what we booked to a sea-front room. Instead, we were put in a room 100 meters from the hotel. It was very old, with two small separate beds instead of the king bed we expected. The photos also show the old door handles and a shower curtain that was literally mouldy. How much would it cost to replace it, 5 euros? That evening I needed Wi-Fi, so I asked reception for the password and was given the hotel Wi-Fi details. But the connection didn’t work from our supposed "upgraded room". A terrible experience.

The hotel is well run and centrally located, with some sea views. There’s a nice pool with shade and a bar, plus great parking opposite. Breakfast had the usual Greek options, though the presentation could be better. It’s a fun village to stay in, with great restaurants.

Ms Irina did her best to help us when our room was overbooked. She’s young in the business, but handled the stress well. Unfortunately, when we asked her male colleague for shower gel, nothing arrived. Our request was ignored.

The pool stays quiet, and the rooms are spacious and kept really clean. Breakfast has plenty of choice and runs until 11am. The hotel feels very modern, and the staff are friendly.

It was too far from town for me, though the distance probably works well if you're staying all inclusive.
