Philoxenia Hotel-Villas

We had a great stay as a family of four with two kids. The staff were kind and helpful, and the meals were varied and delicious. The hotel is near the beach and in the city center, and it has on-site parking that you pay for daily. That was fine for us. Our spacious, clean rooms were cleaned every day, while sheets and towels were changed every three days.

The manager’s response to our complaints was rude and dismissive. After part of the bathroom ceiling fell on the second day, we had to insist before we could even speak with him. He offered no apology or real fix, and made us feel responsible for the hotel’s condition. The only alternative was a cramped attic room, even though we had paid for a two-bedroom apartment. When I said that wasn’t acceptable, we were told we could sleep outside if we didn’t like it. We’d already reported that the hair dryer and main door didn’t work when we arrived, but nothing was done. The rooms were old, dirty, and falling apart, and there was no basic courtesy from reception or management. I strongly advise against staying here.

The location was a real plus, just a minute from the beach, and the bed was comfortable. The pool looked nice, though the water was somehow always cold. We also had plenty of international TV channels. We stayed ten nights, but towels and sheets weren’t changed until day five. Someone came daily to sweep and empty the bins, yet the shower and toilet were never cleaned. There was a smell in the hall and at reception whenever the air conditioning was off. Some meals were fantastic and others disappointing. Breakfast had lots of pastries and jams, and the dinner salads were amazing every night. The stay was fine, but this definitely didn’t feel like a four-star hotel.

The place felt old and worn out, nowhere near four-star quality, maybe one star at most. There’s no parking by the hotel, and the towels were dirty and only replaced every three days. The rooms had no phone or safety box. The food was a disaster, and the staff were so rude. Nobody spoke English.
