Anny Studios & Rooms Perissa Beach

I was there for five days in June 25, tagging along with my dad and uncle on a work trip. They'd picked the cheapest hotel since it was only a short stay, and the location really is lovely, right by the beach. For the price, I wasn't expecting much, and it was bearable compared with other hotels around there. I was in room 1, separate from my family. One night I got up to use the toilet and found a COCKROACH. I know they're common in Greece, but I have a huge phobia of insects, especially spiders and roaches, and I panicked. I called my dad because I didn't know what to do or whether anyone was awake. He came and killed it. The next day we noticed a big gap under the door, so bugs could get in, and I saw roaches every day of my stay. I told reception after finding one in my room again. They gave me a towel to block the gap and said they'd spray bug repellent the next day. I don't know if they did, but it didn't seem to work because roaches kept showing up. I ended up asking my dad to sleep in my room because I couldn't deal with them alone. There were other issues too. The AC smelled really bad, the floor was a strange colour, and the water was salty, like it is on any island. The laundry, or maybe the sheets, gave me rashes all over, and I was itchy when I got home until I showered properly. The cleaner woke me every day. When I tried asking her for something, she'd send me to reception because she didn't speak English, even when I pointed to toilet paper or a towel. She could see I'd used my towel to block the door. The staff were okay overall, and Inga, the bar lady, was so sweet and amazing. The cleaner seemed a bit rude, and the managers didn't seem to care about my problem, even though I asked every day. They just said they'd sprayed the room, so there shouldn't be an issue. I wouldn't stay again, but I didn't choose this hotel and had no say in it, and for the price I wasn't expecting anything amazing anyway. Still, what a horror story for someone who hates roaches 🤣🤣. Such a shame, since the location is lovely, but the walk to the room smelled strongly of sewage, and there were restaurants and roaches around.
