The people are kind, the pool is lovely, and the house is in a really good spot. They can take you to the airport or port in their minibus for €25. My bedroom, though, was tiny, the bed was too small, and the air conditioning didn’t work properly. If all you need is somewhere to leave your stuff while you explore the island, it’s a good fit.

It’s a pleasant place with its own pool and a driveway where you can park a rental, and the beach isn’t too far away. The only thing that bothered me was the tiny shower. There’s no mounted shower head or curtain in any of the rooms, so you either have to crouch down or get everything soaked if you stand up. It’s not a huge issue, and otherwise it’s an acceptable place to stay.

I still remember that visit years later. The pool’s blue paint was coming off onto our bodies, and I was fine with the place being basic. But when the owner learned that my girlfriend was flying out a day before me, he came into my room demanding cash only and blocked the exit. I called the police because I couldn’t get out. My only regret is following the officer’s advice and not suing him.

The staff are very welcoming, and the place feels clean, calm, and warm. It was a much nicer experience than the big tourist hotels.
