Petra Nera

The owners, a friendly husband-and-wife team, gave us impeccable service even though we arrived very late. The grounds were beautiful and well kept, and the room was clean and comfortable. The grocery store is right across the street, though we found the hotel a little hard to spot at night. Airport shuttles cost extra. The black sand beach is walkable, but bring sturdy sandals or beach shoes. The sand gets very hot, and my $1.00 flip-flops couldn't handle it. The shower water wasn't very hot, but I didn't mind. The water tasted a bit salty when I brushed my teeth, so I rinsed with bottled water. I really enjoyed my first Santorini trip and my stay at Petra Nera. Best of all was the time with my hubby. For a 3 star hotel, the service was excellent. Yannis and Isabella were friendly, helpful and very hospitable, and Yannis suggested places to see and arranged a tour. Santorini was a beautiful, relaxing experience. Local transport is available, usually connecting through the capital, Fira, though sometimes we had to wait around half an hour. I'd suggest bringing beach or water shoes.

Perissa isn't really a typical Greek village, but the hotel felt like a peaceful refuge. The staff were lovely, the architecture was modern and classy, and there was a pool even though the black beach was only 500m away. I enjoyed my stay.

A very relaxed place, close to the beach. The owner was kind and helped us arrange a car rental. There's a supermarket at the hotel and a great bakery right across from it.
