Alianthos Beach Hotel

We’ve been here many times, and it’s our absolute favourite in Plakias. The food is so good, the staff are amazing, and the restaurant view is spot on. The service is excellent. Hopefully we’ll be back again.

The air conditioning in our room didn't work on a 30-degree day with a heat warning, and it took 8.5 hours to sort out. This was by far the worst service we had during our two weeks travelling in Crete. Staff, including a manager, came to inspect it, said they'd return or come fix it, then didn't follow through. We were finally moved at 9pm, only after I said I would wait at reception until it was resolved. The heat gave my daughter a headache and nausea, and I missed all the family events that day while trying to get the AC fixed. The hotel offered free sun loungers or a late checkout, but neither worked with our plans, and accepting would have meant changing them at the last minute. I asked for the night to be refunded and they refused. I then worked out a prorated amount for the time without AC and asked for 40 euros back, but they still refused. Most of the staff were unhelpful and rude, and didn't keep their commitments. They seemed unbothered by their poor customer service and its effect on our stay. I would give 0 stars if I could. We'll never stay here again, and I'll tell people not to either.

We booked a superior room with a sea view, but were given a small room facing the other buildings, with no sea view from the balcony. If all we wanted was a view of mountains or buildings, there are other nearby hotels at lower prices. This was completely unreliable and untrustworthy. Please avoid at all costs. PS: To answer the property's question, checkout was on 12th August 2025.

The seafood linguine was very bad, basically cream with some pasta. The burgers were okay. They WILL bring bread without you asking, and you'll have to pay for it. Go to the gyros place next door.
