Hotel Irini

Nice spot, and good too!

We stayed July 7-13, 2023, as two parents with our children, ages 9 and 6. The children had a great time in the very clean pool, which a robot cleaned each morning. There are loungers in sunny spots or under the trees, and you can order coffee or food from a nearby shop and have it brought over, as we did twice. The barbecue is available whenever nobody else is using it. Our downstairs room at the back had two areas and plenty of space. In the part we used as our bedroom there was a double bed, a single bed, two small bedside tables, a wall wardrobe, and a small unit with a mirror and hairdryer in its box. The other area had a sofa bed we used for our things, another comfortable single bed where the kids slept, a wall wardrobe, a little table and mirror, and a kitchenette with a two-burner hob, sink, and fridge. The bathroom was fairly large, though a shower divider or curtain would have helped because water got on the floor. Hot water sometimes ran out fairly quickly. The place is surrounded by greenery and feels right in the middle of nature. The location worked well for us, just a few minutes by car from the beach (river stairs) and 15 minutes from Limenas. Mrs. Eleni and her husband were very kind and clearly love what they do. They take care of everything, and cleaners came daily. There was air conditioning, though we didn't need to turn it on because the weather was comfortable and there was plenty of shade. A CRT TV was in the outside area, but we didn't use it. It isn't a five-star luxury hotel, but it had what our family needed for a holiday, and we were really pleased with the hospitality.

The owners were people I liked, which is why I'm trying to be fair, but the stay still put a damper on our holiday. The area felt oddly empty, with nothing nearby apart from a cafe where you could order morning coffee, which was nice since they brought it to the room. Our room had no balcony screen, so mosquitoes made it hard to leave the door open. The bathroom had neither a window nor ventilation. The mattress was very hard, and without a shutter we couldn't sleep past 7. There were insects in the room, including on the bed. During my four-day stay, our sheets, towels, and toilet paper weren't replaced every day. It made me realize how much a comfortable place to relax matters on vacation when you're not 20 anymore and want some comfort, especially when you're away with a woman. Anyway, the experience taught me that lesson. My best to the owners, who are both excellent people.

I found Thassos to be one of the most beautiful islands I've visited. The hotel sits among lots of greenery and has a pool. Our rooms were clean, with the maid cleaning them every day. The owners were kind and quick to help whenever we needed something. I'd recommend it for a quiet, relaxing holiday.
