Grecotel LUXME White

The Greek and White restaurants were our favorites, both fine dining, and the food was brilliant. Lunch at the Italian was good too. We booked all the restaurants ahead of time, which I'd recommend. Drinks were premium, but it was the people who made the place: staff were great, and all the happy guests were chatting and even dancing together despite language differences. Our sea view room was large, bright, and spotless. Some people call the rooms dated, and the wardrobes did look old, but having two meant there was finally enough hanging space for both my wife and me. On arrival, Christos took our bags, sat us down with refreshments and a cool towel, sorted check-in, handled the environmental tax, showed us around, and walked us to our room. The bags were brought up too, which was fantastic. The bus into town is €4 return for two and worth it, especially for the old town. This is a great hotel, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

The people were great and the food was good, except Tavernaki, which wasn't to our taste and seemed poor beside Agreco Farm. I know Agreco Farm serves Cretan food while Tavernaki is Greek. The buffet got boring, with little seafood. We went in September 2025 and didn't get the arrival experience others seemed to have. The room felt dated and had poor storage, despite two fridge cabinets where one could have been drawers. Our keys didn't work, the TV had no signal, and we couldn't change channels because the remote had no batteries. The shower felt dangerous: its glossy ceramic floor was extremely slippery when wet, and the old handheld head looked like a leftover from the bath. No shower cap, and the toiletries were poor quality. Although the hotel is modern, it was generally uncomfortable. Couples should know it's family-friendly, as they say themselves, and can feel a bit like a nursery.

The views and service were wonderful, and we had a beautiful wedding here in September 2025. Dimitra and the staff did a great job putting our special day together. The beach isn't the best, but we enjoyed the food and the pool, even though it gets very busy. The hotel has older and newer rooms because it's expanded. Unfortunately ours was in the older section. Since we were getting ready and taking wedding photos there, I wish they'd offered an upgrade or asked whether we'd prefer a newer room. Still, it's a gorgeous place in Crete and we'd love to return.

The Agreco Farm visit was a favorite. I loved seeing the animals and plants, and the fresh farm-to-table meal was delicious. We also had a great time swimming at the huge private beach and trying water sports. Parasailing and other activities cost extra, but parasailing was so much fun. Food was incredible and worth the price. We booked dinner at the à la carte restaurants every night, with reservations made about two weeks ahead, which I highly recommend. At White, the fine dining was amazing too. We were there for my boyfriend's birthday, and the standard package I booked came with champagne, flowers, and a beautifully made chocolate cake. Such a thoughtful surprise, and it made the trip unforgettable. I'll definitely visit the Grecotel LUX series again.
