It’s a nice, quiet place to stay for a week, with a sea view, air conditioning, and a jacuzzi. It’s near Rethymno, and Giorgos, the manager, is one of the kindest people we’ve met. The pool was too cold and isn’t heated. It only gets sun until noon. Both bathrooms have problems: one has a plug next to the shower, which feels dangerous, and its shower is tiny, about 1.50m, like it’s made for children 😉. The other bathroom is old, and the toilet is wedged between the washing machine and bathtub. There are only knives, forks, and spoons for 4 people, so we had to wash dishes each time.

We had a lovely vacation at this very beautiful, peaceful place. Thank you!

A very good place to stay.

We spent two weeks in the Aloe house with four people and have no complaints. Everything was clean. Cleaning was offered three times, but we only had it done once and washed the towels ourselves. The washing machine is excellent. Communication with the landlord was excellent too. We highly recommend the house. The kitchen has plenty of pots and pans, and exactly enough cutlery for six. It isn’t brand new, but it works. The refrigerator/freezer is spacious, while the dishwasher is small, so we ran it after every meal. A few Tupperware containers would have been useful. We also used the built-in grill. All rooms are a comfortable size and have wardrobes, with more hanging space than shelf space. One wardrobe has a small safe. The downstairs bathroom seems to have been added later and isn’t suitable for very tall people. There’s no place to store toothbrushes and similar things. The upstairs bathroom has a whirlpool tub, though we only showered in it. There’s plenty of storage and a washing machine. If both showers are running at once, the pressure drops a little and the upstairs bathroom gets less hot water. The pool attendant usually came early in the morning to clean the pool every day. We used the hot tub during the chilly last few days. Just a heads-up, when it heats, it hums in the downstairs room, and the noise continues at night. Toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, dish towels, dish soap, and hand soap were supplied. Each guest had a small and large towel, plus an extra large towel for the pool. The downstairs terrace has a table with six chairs, and the upstairs terrace has lounge furniture. All bedrooms have blackout curtains. Air conditioning is in every room and living area, though we didn’t use it. The windows need to be closed when it’s on because they have sensors. The house is on a hill, about 3 km from town. We paid €10 for a taxi from the bottom to the top.
