Sutor Chic Manor

I loved the authentic feel of the lovely house, its pool area, and the option to use the kitchen. The utilities were a nice extra, and the location was very good. I was meant to be in room 3 but was assigned room 5 instead. I understand that can happen, though the guests who went into the wrong room should have been directed to their own room. That wasn't the hotel's error. Room 5's AC wasn't really working, and the pipes and sewage could use some improvement because of the smell. A few upgrades would make this a very nice place.

The communal kitchen looked useful, and the pool looked lovely, though we didn't get to use it. Check-in was straightforward with the guest app that unlocks the entrance. We were impressed when we first arrived and even thought about extending our stay, but the problems became clear after a few days. Our ground-floor room had no passive ventilation. To get fresh air, we had to open either the door to the shared area or the street, and then sounds carried easily outside. I kept feeling short of fresh air. The bathroom door doesn't fit tightly against the wall, so there's no privacy if your travel companion is in the bedroom. Because of the ventilation issue, I don't think I'd stay here again.

The location is beautiful, close to lots of great restaurants in the Old Town, and the staff promptly answered our questions about parking, places to eat, and other local tips. We visited as tourists in the off-season and were very happy with Sutor Chic Manor. The pool looked spectacular, and we'd love to return in summer when it's in use. Thanks for making our time in Rethymno memorable.

We had a great couple of days here. The hotel is clean, the rooms are well equipped, and nothing got in the way of a lovely vacation. Its spot in the old city is wonderful, with narrow lanes and cosy places all around giving it a romantic feel. There's parking nearby, so having a car for road trips wasn't a problem. Highly recommend!
