Mimosa Suites

The hotel’s location is excellent, with the beach five minutes away and restaurants, pharmacies, and supermarkets just two minutes away. Reception and cleaning were fine, and the room was okay apart from the shower and the bed. We paid for a large bed for two, but it was two mattresses pushed together, and very hard. I had back pain every day. Also, cleaning staff woke us at 9 every morning to ask whether we wanted the room cleaned. I have mixed feelings about the hotel, though the location is hard to beat.

It was clean in the room and throughout the hotel, but the apartment was small and oddly laid out. It felt like they’d made use of leftover space, with a wall and columns taking up half the room. The bed was rock hard, though I think I could get used to it. Just an okay hotel.

The location is great for a small hotel in the middle of the city, and there’s a decent, if small, pool to cool off in during the afternoon or evening. But the beds were awful. I’ve never slept so badly or had so much back pain. The room was worn, as was the interior, though the AC worked fine. The bedsheet had stains, and the kitchen area wasn’t clean when we arrived. The shower head had no fixture, so you have to hold it yourself. Bring your own soap and shampoo, since none are provided. Our shower drain was clogged for a few days. Staff at least tried to fix it and kept paying attention to the problem. Cleaning starts far too early. Either you get woken up or you have to ask the cleaner to come back later every day. There are a lot of compromises here, and I’m not willing to make them again.

For a 2-star hotel, this is top notch. It’s worth judging it by what you pay for, and the hygiene and cleaning were great. The staff were incredible, and the location is perfect for exploring Rhodes, close to beaches, services, restaurants, and pretty much everything you might want. The pool area is small, but I enjoyed it for a day or two, especially since it felt like I had it to myself. It’s a great base for exploring the town or island if you’re not looking for a fancy resort where you stay inside the hotel.
