A quiet little getaway on an island that can get hectic when it’s full in summer. The rooms are big and the staff attentive.

The location was good, and I liked having a balcony where I could sit and take in the view. The bathroom was the main problem: the faucet was loose and the water didn’t drain properly, so I didn’t feel clean after showering. We were there for just one night, which made it bearable for a single use. The air conditioner also wasn’t working properly and leaked water, which was annoying. There was an unpleasant smell in the room and across the hotel area too.

For what we paid, it was well worth it, especially as it was the cheapest hotel we found in Santorini. The staff were very friendly, and there’s a good pool. The hotel runs a shuttle to central Fira and back every three hours. There’s also a nearby beach, not as nice as Kamari, but better than nothing. They provide towels for the beach or pool. We recommend staying here.

The pool was a real highlight, deep and inviting, and the surrounding views were breathtaking and well kept. Our rooms at Porter Castello were clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The staff were incredibly helpful and did everything they could to make us comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious food, which was reasonably priced. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend.
