The view may be incredible, but that's the only thing I'd praise. The hotel was dirty and had very poor hygiene. The whole place and the rooms smelled of urine and filth. I've never had such an unpleasant experience. My husband and I stayed for one night. I picked this place based on its Instagram photos. When we arrived, we went straight to the pool in our room without looking closely at the bedroom because we were told it was ready. In the middle of the night I felt something on my head and thought I was dreaming. Around 5 a.m. I got up for water and found a giant cockroach stuck to my neck. I flung it to the floor and ran to the bathroom in fear. My husband spent several minutes trying to kill it as it crawled over the bed and pillows. After that we couldn't sleep. There was nobody at reception overnight, and they'd turned everything off, even the Wi-Fi, so we had no connection. We packed our bags and checked every piece of clothing for more cockroaches. With the lights on, we could see yellow stains on the sheets, pee stains. They were filthy. We left the room and waited at a restaurant until 8 or 9 a.m., when someone would be at the front desk so we could leave. I know pests exist everywhere. My husband and I love traveling and exploring new countries, but this had never happened to us. The huge cockroach, dirty sheets and awful smell made it seem like there were no hygiene or pest control measures in place. It was impossible to enjoy the stay. The main hotel pool was also visibly dirty, freezing cold and unusable, with no maintenance. If you get the chance to stay here, don't take it. It's the worst and dirtiest hotel I've ever been to. I'm sharing this to help someone else avoid what happened to us, and to remind people to look more carefully than I did when choosing a place. It was a terrible experience, but at least I've learned my lesson.

The view lived up to everything we expected, with private pools and a sunset that made the stay worthwhile. We spent one night in a quiet part of Oia to catch the sunset. Vlassis was a wonderful host. He went out of his way to help us find traditional Greek food and suggest places to go. Muhammad was also a big help carrying some of our bags on the walk to and from the hotel.

We really loved having an infinity pool just for ourselves, and our room gave us a luxurious place to enjoy the ocean view from the sofa. One of our favorite moments in Oia was watching the beautiful sunset from the Old Castle. We'd emailed ahead for help with our luggage and a ride to the airport. They replied quickly and kindly, and everything was arranged smoothly. Thanos was warm, friendly and very helpful. We truly appreciated his hospitality.

We stayed one night mainly to catch the sunset. Room 7 seemed to offer the most privacy. The location has its upside and downside: it's great for sunset views, though there's no getting around the stairs. The receptionist or owner seemed rather indifferent, but clearly explained everything we needed to know. We tipped the porter even though he'd broken part of my suitcase. It's a really difficult job, after all.

The view was the only good part of our honeymoon stay. For the nightly price, the room was a huge disappointment, all cons otherwise. It was messy and dingy, with crumbs and dirt on the floor. Our bedding had obvious marks and dirty pillows, and hadn't been changed after the previous guests. The shower floor sloped away from the drain, leaving a pool of used water on the other side. Reception said they already knew about the problem and were still renting the room like that. The jacuzzi wasn't clean either, with debris and algae. It suddenly drained and never refilled, while water ran noisily all night as it tried to fill back up. We contacted reception, but because it was after 9 p.m. they couldn't help until morning. The next day, the only solution they offered was to wait for another room to become available. We were completely dissatisfied and left that morning. We're trying to get a refund, but so far they're refusing.
