The shower was my one gripe: the tray could be bigger, since water ended up all over the floor and made it slippery. Apart from that, the rooms were simple and clean, the beds soft and comfortable, and the bathroom was fine. The pool and bar have plenty of space, lots to eat and drink, and plenty of loungers, with old trees and parasols for shade. The complex is well cared for, and the family dog and cats are often around and lovely. Caroline is an amazing host who really shows Greek hospitality, and Maria is a wonderful barwoman. The whole family are friendly and hardworking. The outskirts of Sidari make for a peaceful, quiet stay, apart from the BBQ and dancing on Monday nights, though we were the ones making that noise! Several supermarkets are a 15 minute walk away, and Sidari town and beach are 30 minutes away. I had a fantastic week at Goudelis and didn’t want to leave. I’d highly recommend it, especially for adults and couples.

The family who run this place give amazing service and really look after you. They also have plenty of useful advice about the island. The food and drinks are good quality and reasonably priced, and the pool is lovely and clean. It’s close to main roads and transport links, but far enough away not to feel too close. We had a brilliant time, 5 stars.

Caroline and the staff are helpful and very friendly. There’s lots of room around the pool and in it, and the spacious grounds and the apartment are kept clean. They cleaned the apartment every day.

The stay went by far too quickly, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff worked hard to make everything fantastic. There were plenty of sunbeds, with umbrellas, trees and hammocks for shade, and a pool table, soft drinks and ice creams too. The pool was clean and a great temperature, and our kids spent hours in it. It felt safe away from the main roads, and children played well together. Couples of different ages were there too. For our departure, we could use a shower room with towels and leave our luggage by reception. Caroline welcomed us with drinks and gave us helpful tips about where to go and eat. She loves children. The room was clean, comfortable and had what we needed, with regular visits from the cleaners. Breakfast was great, with fresh fruit, bakery items and cooked food. The bar was nicely decorated and had lots on offer. Maria made amazing cocktails and was always around to help. It has a real family feel, with many staff from Caroline’s family. Her mum makes wonderful traditional dishes on the à la carte menu, and her dad puts on an excellent BBQ. One evening there was Greek fire dancing and other traditional entertainment as part of the BBQ. You’ll need a car to explore the island. A taxi to Sidari cost €8 for the 1.5 mile drive. After one evening in Sidari, we couldn’t get a taxi back and had to walk on the main road in the dark, with no path, which wasn’t good with small children. We were told there are only about 11 taxis in the area. Sidari Beach isn’t the best, and the water isn’t very clear. We hired a car for €50 a day and went to amazing places like Kassiopi. There are lots of great places to see and things to do within half an hour, but you need to drive there.
