Kalloni Bay

At 33 degres, it was handy to have the huge swimming pool and a beach across the road for cooling off. The staff and Simon Jet2 rep did a great job looking after us. They were all very friendly and introduced us to excellent restaurants and beaches. The location worked well too, with a short walk to the village square and its many restaurants, including one serving waffles and crepes, which was a delight.

We’ve stayed here four times, and it’s our first choice when we want to stay at Kaloni Bay. It’s a typical family-run Greek hotel. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and clean, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. They remember you from earlier visits. Evenings are quiet and don’t have much atmosphere, but the town provides that. Breakfast is tasty and fresh. The pool is fairly small but clean, and there are usually plenty of sunbeds.

We enjoyed our eight days here, and it was pretty cheap at the end of the season. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool was nice and big, with enough drinks and food options at the poolbar. The sea is just across the road, with free sunbeds, and breakfast was good enough. The bathroom and shower keep this from being five stars. They were very small and old, and didn’t look clean. They should be renewed very soon. The mattresses weren’t great either, though the room was cleaned well every day.

This was our sixth time at the kalloni bay hotel, so clearly we love coming back. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We emailed ahead and got our favourite room, along with a mattress pad that made the bed very comfortable. Thanks to everyone for that. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though the shower could use some work. It’s nothing that would stop me returning. The hotel is fifty metres from the beach and a ten-minute walk from the village square, with great tavernas. Head for ambrosia. There are great cocktail bars too. We’ll be back next year.
