Captain's House

We loved unwinding by the pool in the afternoons, and our room was lovely, with comfy beds and a nice terrace. Mrs. Kaiti, the owner, was so warm and friendly. The hotel is near the town center and seaside, but tucked into a peaceful area. Everything was spotless, and we're very glad we stayed here.

Those little tables right by the sea are a real highlight. Sitting there with the view is beautiful, and the location is hard to beat. The family who runs the place are kind and attentive, and everything is spotless. The rooms are older, but exceptionally clean and full of their own charm. Breakfast is neatly prepared and there's plenty of it. If I return to Patmos, I'd stay here again without a second thought.

Room 27 had a balcony overlooking the main street and the sea, a lovely spot to sit and relax. The toilet area could use a little more space, though most people should be fine. The bed was comfortable enough, and there was a desk, bedside tables, wardrobe, AC, and a hair dryer, so no need to bring one. Breakfast cost 7€ and was sufficient for the price: croissants, bread, fruit, spinach and cheese pies, milk, orange juice, coffee, salami, and eggs. I've had more variety elsewhere, but eating on the porch with that view was nice. There isn't dinner at the hotel, though there are plenty of nearby places to eat. Parking isn't provided, but there's public parking close by. The woman running the hotel was friendly, as was the cleaner, who deserves a mention. It was a nice stay, just without a particular wow moment, so I'd give it four stars. Generally, I'd recommend it.

The location is hard to beat, just four minutes from the main square in Skala, with shops and restaurants very close. You can get cars too. The hotel's run by some of the friendliest people you'll meet, and family is around the lobby, little pool, and breakfast area. Mela, their tiny dog in a diaper, is part of the family too. This isn't a luxury hotel, it's a Greek family stay. The rooms are small but clean, with a mini fridge, AC, and tiny balcony. The staff keep everything spotless. Breakfast tastes good and the coffee is great, though the choices are somewhat limited. Greek specialties are served every day, and the patio view is worth a photo. One serious thing to know: there are steep stairs up to the rooms, so this isn't workable for wheelchair access. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat for a very friendly Greek island experience.
