Ippokampos Hotel

We ended up paying 120 euros because the other hotels were fully booked, for a room I think should have cost 30-40 euros. The rooms seem like they haven’t changed since the 70s. The bed was worn out, the sheets were old and faded, and the towels were stiff and scratchy. I assume the rooms share a hot water tank, because the water was always cold when I showered at night. The bathroom was tiny, and the curtain touched my body while I was showering, which was uncomfortable. The WiFi was very unreliable, apparently because it couldn’t handle the load. It’s hard to find the place, although it’s close to the square. Stathis was the one bright spot and tried to accommodate us, and the rooms were clean. Still, at that price I expected a higher level of service. This was the worst value for money I’ve ever had. If you find it for 30-40-50 euros, go for it. Otherwise, stay away. I’m writing such a strong review because the other reviews didn’t match what I experienced, and I felt cheated. During high season, while I was paying 120 euros per night, there was also a room available for 30 euros, which felt dishonest to me.
