Poseidon Apartments

We had a great holiday in Skala. The apartment was clean and roomy, with two balconies and a sea view, and the free WiFi was there, though a bit unreliable. Our place on the third floor meant tackling lots of very narrow stairs, and there wasn't much storage. Most of the staff were helpful, but the block has very few facilities. There’s no bar or pool, and with a late flight like ours, there was nowhere for guests to change or shower, which really limited what we could do.

There are loads of nice restaurants, cake shops, and ice cream places within a two-minute walk, and the apartments are just off Skala's main street. This family-run place impressed me for a two-star stay. The owners are lovely, and the rooms are cleaned every day apart from Thursday. They even changed our sheets and towels halfway through the week. There’s a Motown bar a couple of streets away with music from 6 to 11 each night, but it wasn’t intrusive. Really friendly, and great value.

The hosts are fantastic, always up for a chat, and even offered to lend me their motorbike, though I declined. The place is in a beautiful spot just off the main street, close to the shops and restaurants, with a short walk to the beach. I'd stay again.

Everything is just around the corner, and the location is nice and quiet, really relaxing. The hosts were wonderful and the place was very clean. My one concern is the bathroom. It needs some improvements, or maybe a full renovation.
