Fofi took great care of us and even arranged our taxi. The breakfast was generous, and we'd stay here again. Ask her how many cats she has! It's a lovely, characterful place up the hill.

Hotel MATO has a charming, typically Greek building, and the service and welcome were superb. The breakfast was delicious, though a little hard. Loved it and will return.

Froffee was so friendly and helpful, and made us feel right at home. Our clean, spacious room had a private balcony overlooking Skiathos and the bay. The place is full of character, and it became the most memorable stop in our month of travelling around Greece. Highly recommended. Ken and Sarah, Melbourne Australia

I booked a double room for three weeks but left after just one. On the first night, the woman moved me into a single room without explaining why or offering compensation. Two days later, there was no hot water anywhere in the property for 24 hours. Two days after that, she refused to provide the daily cleaning. Her attitude throughout was unlike anything I've encountered. It ended with her verbally abusing me and hitting me yesterday. I filed a police report and a friendly local helped me get my luggage out, after she tried to stop me in front of other guests. This woman has serious mental issues and may hurt someone one day if she's allowed to keep operating. Apparently people around town are talking about it now, and they're as shocked as I am.

A lovely old-fashioned place with a charming atmosphere, great breakfast, amazing cats, and a helpful owner. It has old traditions.
